MAINTAIN A BUILDING FOR THE DISPLAY OF A COLLECTION OF OVER 8000 BUSINESS,SCHOOL,CHURCH, MILITARY, HOME, CLOTHING AND PERSONAL ITEMS RELATING TO MARCELLUS, NY. PROVIDE A REFERENCE ROOM FOR RESEARCH MATERIAL INCLUDING MARCELLUS FEDERAL & STATE CENSUS RECORDS 1800-1925, DEATH, MARRIAGE AND CEMETERY RECORDS, MARCELLUS OBSERVER NEWSPAPERS FROM 1879 TO PRESENT, FAMILY HISTORIES, OVER 31 INDEXED PHOTO ALBUMNS AND 50 SCRAPBOOKS CONTAINING OVER 40,000 INDEXED REFERENCES. THE BUILDING IS OPEN 1 DAY A WEEK DURING THE WINTER AND 2 DAYS A WEEK IN THE SUMMER. WE HAD OVER 250 VISITORS DURING 2006. THE ON GOING PRESERVATION OF ALL ARTIFACTS PERTAINING TO THE HISTORY OF MARCELLUS AND THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT FAMOUS.
MAINTAIN COLLECTION AND REFERENCE MATERIAL USING ACCEPTABLE PRESERVATION METHODS AND MATERIALS. ALSO WE KEEP RECORDS UP TO DATE AND AVAILABLE ON THE SOCIETY'S COMPUTER.
