THE YMCA OF GENEVA IS A VOLUNTEER LED PUBLIC CHARITY THAT INCLUDES MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, ABILITIES, INCOMES, RACES AND RELIGIONS. THE GENEVA FAMILY YMCA IS DEDICATED TO PUTTING CHRISTIAN VALUES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE COMMUNITY AND FAMILY VALUES AND DEVELOP A HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL. TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION, OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS, STAFF AND PROGRAMS ARE GUIDED BY THE FOLLOWING CORE VALUES: CARING, RESPECT, HONESTY AND RESPONSIBILITY.

THE YMCA HAS IDENTIFIED THE GROWING NATIONAL OBESITY RATES IN THIS COUNTRY AS A CRITICAL SOCIAL ISSUE THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED AND OUR HEALTH AND WELL BEING PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE DEVELOP NEW SKILLS AND GROW IN SPRIT, MIND AND BODY BY SETTING REALISTIC GOALS FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT AND DISEASE PREVENTION THROUGH AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE, PROPER NUTRITION, STRESS MANAGEMENT, AND HEALTH EDUCATION. CAMPING/CHILDCARE: OUR DAY CAMPING OPPORTUNITIES OFFER ADVENTURE AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES THAT PROVIDE CHALLENGE, EDUCATION AND PROMOTE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS, MENTAL DEVELOPMENT, PHYSICAL WELL BEING, SOCIAL GROWTH, AND SELF RESPECT. OUR CAMPS PROVIDE A REVERENCE FOR NATURE AND RESPECT FOR INTER-RELATEDNESS OF ALL LIVING THINGS ON EARTH. OUR CAMPS ARE OPEN TO ALL, REGARDLESS OF INCOME OR SPECIAL NEEDS, SO THAT CHILDREN APPRECIATE DIVERSITY, BECOME COMMUNITY LEADERS AND DEVELOP LIFELONG VALUES.
CHILD CARE: OUR CHILD CARE PROGRAMS OFFER HIGH QUALITY CHILD CARE ACTIVITIES FOR PRESCHOOL AND SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN FROM ALL SEGMENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY. WE OFFER A VARIETY OF STATE LICENSED CHILDCARE PROGRAMS WHICH PROVED A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WHERE YOUTH CAN DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM, GOOD VALUES AND AN APPRECIATION OF CHARITABLE SERVICE. WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF THE YMCA MISSION IS A COMMITMENT TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES. WE OFFER A 2 DAY PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FOR 3 YEAR OLDS AND A 3 DAY PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FOR 4 YEAR OLDS. WE ALSO OFFER AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS AND VARIOUS KID CLUBS DURING SCHOOL BREAKS.
