THE MISSION OF THE ARTS CENTER & THEATRE OF SCHENECTADY (ACTS) IS TO PROVIDE A DIVERSE PROGRAM OF EXCELLENT PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS, TO RESTORE AND PRESERVE THE BEAUTIFUL PROCTOR'S THEATRE, TO SERVE AS A CULTURAL CENTER FOR THE CAPITAL REGION AND, TO THE EXTENT THAT RESOURCES AND THE CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION PERMIT, SUPPORT ACTIVITIES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE REGION.

ITS MISSION: THROUGH ARTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP, TO BE A CATALYST FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION, SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND RICH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE GREATER CAPITAL REGION. FROM TOURING BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS TO INTIMATE CONCERTS, FROM GRADUATIONS AND SPELLING BEES TO THE WINTER FARMER'S MARKET, PROCTORS IS A HAVEN FOR ARTS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS OF ALL KINDS, A LIVING ROOM FOR THE REGION.
