SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 270,000 MEMBERS IN NEW YORK STATE INCLUDING SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS, SPECIAL ASSISTANCE, AND PUBLICATIONS TO ENCOURAGE A MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE COMMUNITY WHICH RECOGNIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF A PUBLIC EDUCATION IN SOCIETY.


INSURANCE PROGRAM - THE ORGANIZATION COLLECTS ASSESSMENTS FROM MEMBERS AND OBTAINS INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR FUNCTIONS HELD AT MEMBER SCHOOLS. THE ORGANIZATION CONTRACTS WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE MAINTENANCE, INC. (AIM) TO BILL AND COLLECT THESE INSURANCE PREMIUMS DIRECTLY FROM MEMBERS.


SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIP AWARDS - THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS THE "JENKINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND AND THE "TEACHERS FELLOWSHIP AWARD" ANNUALLY. THE JENKINS SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO MUST ATTEND A SUNY UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE. THE FELLOWSHIP AWARDS ARE GIVEN TO VARYING NUMBER OF TEACHERS WHO ARE CONTINUING THEIR EDUCATION.
