THE CHINESE COMMUNITY CENTER, INC. (CCCI) OFFERS A RANGE OF CULTURAL AND SOCIAL INITIATIVES TO ENHANCE UNDERSTANDING OF CHINESE CULTURE, AND FOCUSES ON HEALTH, VOLUNTEERISM, AND PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AND SENIORS.
THE CHINESE CONSOLIDATED BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION (CCBA) MANAGES REAL ESTATE, INCLUDING LEASING TO A DAYCARE CENTER. THEY ALSO ORGANIZE CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS LIKE AFFORDABLE CONCERTS AND CHINESE OPERA PERFORMANCES. CCBA HAS BROADENED ITS SOCIAL SERVICE OFFERINGS, INCLUDING ASSISTANCE WITH THE PUBLIC HOUSING, SENIOR LIVING, AND SOCIAL SECURITY MATTERS. IN 2023, THEY PROVIDE COMPLIMENTARY TAX SERVICES FROM FEBRUARY TO MAY, PROCESSING OVER 300 TAX RETURNS THROUGH VOLUNTEER EFFORTS. THROUGHOUT 2023, CCBA VOLUNTEERS ARE DEDICATED TO PROVIDING DAILY COMMUNITY SERVICES, HELPING AN AVERAGE OF OVER 20 INDIVIDUALS EACH DAY. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NON-PROFIT MEALS-FOR-UNITY, THEY CO-HOST A MONTHLY FREE MEAL DISTRIBUTION FROM JANUARY TO DECEMBER, DELIVERING AS MANY AS 600 MEALS MONTHLY. CCBA ALSO FACILITATES NUMEROUS COMMUNITY GATHERINGS WHERE LEADERS AND THE PUBLIC DISCUSS LOCAL ISSUES. THESE MEETINGS, ATTENDED BY ELECTED AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AS WELL AS NYPD REPRESENTATIVES, ARE VITAL FOR CONVEYING KEY INFROMATION TO THE CHINESE COMMUNITIES.
