PHOENIX HOUSES OF TEXAS PROVIDES DRUG AND ALCOHOL PREVENTION EDUCATION, RESIDENTIAL ADDICTION TREATMENT, AND OUTPATIENT COUNSELING IN ORDER TO HEAL INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES CHALLENGED BY SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS AND RELATED MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES - PHOENIX HOUSES OF TEXAS RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTERS AT HILL A. FEINBERG ACADEMY IN DALLAS AND AUSTIN ACADEMY IN AUSTIN HELP YOUTH WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN SEVERELY IMPACTED BY A COMBINATION OF COMPLEX ISSUES. MANY HAVE WITNESSED OR EXPERIENCED TRAUMATIC, LIFE-ALTERING EVENTS SUCH AS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT/RAPE, PHYSICAL ASSAULT, GANG VIOLENCE, OR TRAUMA ASSOCIATED WITH IMMIGRATION. ADOLESCENTS ATTEND A FULLY-ACCREDITED ON-SITE HIGH SCHOOL WHILE RECEIVING COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT, INCLUDING INDIVIDUAL, GROUP AND FAMILY COUNSELING, ART AND MUSIC THERAPY, AND WELLNESS AND FITNESS ACTIVITIES. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 350 ADOLESCENTS EACH YEAR.


PREVENTION SERVICES - PHOENIX HOUSES OF TEXAS CONDUCTS A WIDE ARRAY OF PREVENTION SERVICES THAT SEEK TO REDUCE USE OR MISUSE SUCH AS UNDERAGE ALCOHOL USE, MARIJUANA AND CANNABINOID USE, TOBACCO AND OTHER NICOTINE PRODUCT USE, AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG MISUSE. WE UTILIZE STRATEGIES THAT ADDRESS UNDERLYING FACTORS THAT LEAD TO SUBSTANCE USE AND MISUSE INCLUDING ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES, SOCIAL DETERMINATES OF HEALTH, AND OTHER YOUTH, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY RISK AND PROTECTIVE FACTORS. PREVENTION SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 31,900 INDIVIDUALS DURING THE YEAR.


OUTPATIENT SERVICES - BOTH INTENSIVE AND SUPPORTIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS AT PHOENIX HOUSES OF TEXAS COMBINE CASE MANAGEMENT WITH SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT THAT INCLUDES INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, AND FAMILY COUNSELING; RELAPSE PREVENTION, AND RESEARCH-PROVEN PRACTICES THAT ADDRESS SUCH SPECIFIC CLIENT NEEDS AS ANGER MANAGEMENT, POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING. THESE TREATMENT SERVICES PROVIDE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT TO APPROXIMATELY 600 CLIENTS.
