THE STEINHARDT FOUNDATION FOR JEWISH LIFE WORKS TO REVITALIZE JEWISH IDENTITY IN NORTH AMERICA THROUGH DESIGNING, LAUNCHING, AND SUPPORTING INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL INITIATIVES THAT SEEK TO ENGAGE ALL JEWS IN THE POSSIBILITIES OF JEWISH LIFE. THE FOUNDATION'S PHILANTHROPY SEEKS TO PROMOTE JEWISH PRIDE AND BUILD CONNECTIONS WITH THE RICHNESS OF JEWISH CIVILIZATION AND RITUAL, THE HEBREW LANGUAGE, AND THE LIFE AND CULTURE OF ISRAEL. THE GOAL OF THE FOUNDATION IS THE CULTIVATION OF A DYNAMIC AND THRIVING JEWISH COMMUNITY WHOSE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WIDER SOCIETY ARE INSPIRED BY JEWISH PRIDE BUILT ON JEWISH PEOPLEHOOD, EXCELLENCE, AND JOY.
