IRIS HOUSE PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES AND ADVOCACY FOR WOMEN, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES INFECTED WITH AND AFFECTED BY HIV/AIDS, WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PROVIDING PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SERVICES FOR OUR CLIENTS AND AT-RISK COMMUNITIES.

FOOD NUTRITION SERVICES FROM JANUARY-DECEMBER 2021, IH PROVIDED 12,363 MEALS IN THE FORM OF HOT/COLD LUNCHES IN OUR WEEKLY CONGREGATE MEALS PROGRAM. IH ALSO PROVIDED 186,094 MEALS FROM 24,654 PANTRY AND FRESH MARKET BAGS, WHILE SERVING OVER 150 PLWHA CLIENTS AND 4,082 COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN OUR CENTRAL/EAST HARLEM SOUTH BRONX COMMUNITY FRESH MARKET INITIATIVE AS WELL, WE DISTRIBUTED 388 FOOD VOUCHERS VALUED AT AN APPROXIMATELY 75 EACH TO 58 PLWHA PROVIDING THEM WITH 9,708 MEALS IN TOTAL. A TOTAL OF 6,758 EMERGENCY PANTRY BAGS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO OVER 1,889 COMMUNITY CLIENTS. ADDITIONALLY, IH CONDUCTED 38 NUTRITION HEALTH WORKSHOPS WITH 313 DUPLICATED PLWHA PARTICIPANTS 35 COOKING CLASS SERIES, AND 36 HEALTHY MOVEMENT FITNESS CLASSES WITH MORE THAN 1,658 DUPLICATED PARTICIPANTS.


HOUSING PROGRAMS THE AGENCY GOVERNS FOUR 4 HOUSING PROGRAMS INCLUDING THOSE FOR PERSONS LIVING WITH HIV AND/OR LIVING WITH MENTAL HEALTH OR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER, REGARDLESS OF STATUS. THROUGH THE PROGRAMS, IRIS HOUSE PROVIDED IN 2021, SERVICES FOR 483 CLIENTS TOTALING 2,047 SERVICES. FOUR CLIENTS WERE EMPLOYED, AND ONE CLIENT ATTENDED GRADUATE SCHOOL. SUPPORTIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES WERE ALSO PROVIDED TO A NUMBER OF CLIENTS. A TOTAL OF 1614 SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 39 CLIENTS VIA OUR MOST RECENT HOUSING PROGRAM INSTITUTED, AND HOPWA PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 2378 TO 41 CLIENTS. THROUGH THE CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, 11 CLIENTS ARE EMPLOYED, 3 ARE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL AND ONE IS IN JOB TRAINING.


PREVENTION PREVENTION EDUCATION SERVICES THOSE AT RISK FOR HIV AND PROVIDED THROUGH EBIS AND OUTREACH TO NUMEROUS TARGET POPULATIONS, INCLUDING MEN AND WOMEN OF COLOR, MSM, YOUTH AND WSW. CDC EBIS OFFERED IN NYC INCLUDE SISTA, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, WILLOW, D-UP, CLEAR, SIN BUSCAR EXCUSAS, SEEKING SAFETY AND LOVING OURSELVES, A HOMEGROWN INTERVENTION DEVELOPED BY IRIS HOUSE. LOVING OURSELVES REACHED 21 HIV NEGATIVE WOMEN 32 PREVENTION EDUCATION WORKSHOPS WERE COMPLETED WITH 160 PARTICIPANTS 26 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED CLEAR 24 WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV PARTICIPATED IN WILLOW 117 EMOTIONAL WELLNESS SESSIONS WERE CONDUCTED 18 FAITH- BASED WORKSHOPS WITH 286 PARTICIPATES WERE COMPLETED 21 WOMEN PARTICIPATED IN HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, AND 24 LOVE YOUR LIFE SUPPORT GROUPS WITH 217 PARTICIPANTS WERE ALSO COMPLETED. THERE WERE 1,295 HIV TESTS ADMINISTERED 307 GONORRHEA SCREENINGS 398 SYPHILIS SCREENINGS 308 CHLAMYDIA SCREENINGS AND 726 HEPATITIS C TESTS.
