FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023, THE ORGANIZATION STAYED TRUE TO ITS MISSION OF CREATING NEW LIFE FOR LOST AND NEGLECTED PLAYS BY MOUNTING TWO NEW PRODUCTIONS AT NEW YORK CITY CENTER STAGE II, CO-PRODUCING A MINT DISCOVERY IN LONDON, AND OFFERING FREE STREAMING OF THREE PRODUCTIONS FROM THE ORGANIZATION'S ARCHIVES. 2023 ALSO INCLUDED THE FINAL THREE WEEKS OF PERFORMANCES OF CHAINS BY ELIZABETH BAKER, PRODUCED AT THEATER ROW THROUGH JULY 2022. TAKEN TOGETHER, THIS ACTIVITY PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT FOR 131 ACTORS, DESIGNERS, DIRECTORS, AND STAGE MANAGERS, AS WELL AS CARPENTERS, STITCHERS, ELECTRICIAN, SCENIC ARTISTS, AND OTHERS.TOTAL AUDIENCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION'S LIVE PERFORMANCES FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023 WAS 11,744, INCLUDING ABOUT 2,000 INDIVIDUALS IN LONDON. THE ORGANIZATION'S STREAMED PRODUCTIONS WERE VIEWED BY 4,152 HOUSEHOLDS, TWO-THIRDS OF WHICH HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ONE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S LIVE PERFORMANCES.FROM NOVEMBER 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 10, 2022, AT NEW YORK CITY CENTER STAGE II, THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTED THE AMERICAN PREMIERE OF THE RAT TRAP BY NOEL COWARD, WRITTEN WHEN HE WAS 18. NEXT CAME THE WORLD PREMIERE OF BECOMES A WOMAN BY BETTY SMITH, WHICH PLAYED FROM FEBRUARY 7 THROUGH MARCH 18, 2023 AND WAS WRITTEN IN 1931, A DOZEN YEARS BEFORE SMITH ACHIEVED FAME AS THE AUTHOR OF A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN. BOTH THE PRODUCTION AND LEADING LADY, EMMA PFISTER-PRICE, WERE NOMINATED FOR AWARDS, INCLUDING THE ORGANIZATION'S FIRST OUTSTANDING NEW OFF-BROADWAY PLAY NOMINATION FROM THE OUTER CRITICS CIRCLE.THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CO-PRODUCED, WITH THE JERMYN STREET THEATRE IN LONDON, THE U.K. PREMIERE OF YOURS UNFAITHFULLY BY MILES MALLESON. THE ORGANIZATION'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DIRECTED THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THIS 1933 PLAY IN NEW YORK FOR THE ORGANIZATION IN 2016-17 AND CREATED A NEW PRODUCTION FOR LONDON WITH AN ALL-BRITISH CAST AND A TEAM OF LOCAL DESIGNERS.THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO OFFER FREE STREAMING FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023.
