FOUNDED IN 1981, THE KINGSBRIDGE-RIVERDALE-VAN CORTLANDT DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (KRVC), A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, AIMS TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT LOCAL INITIATIVES THAT WILL BUILD AND ENRICH OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH SOCIAL, CULTURAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, HOUSING, EDUCATIONAL AND BUSINESS ENTERPRISES. OUR TARGET AREA IS THE BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY COMPRISED OF KINGSBRIDGE, KINGSBRIDGE HEIGHTS, MARBLE HILL, RIVERDALE, SPUYTEN DUYVIL, FIELDSTON, WOODLAWN AND VAN CORTLANDT VILLAGE.

505BX EVENTS - A SERIES OF EVENTS PRODUCED AT OUR COMMUNITY SPACE, 505BX. THE SPACE IS A SMALL STOREFRONT LOCATED AT 505 WEST 236TH STREET, BRONX, NY. IT FEATURES A SMALL INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACE, A STAGE AND A GALLERY WALL. THE GALLERY WALL, GALLERY 505, FEATURED THE WORK OF THREE BRONX ARTISTS IN 2021-2022. EACH ARTIST HAD AN OPENING RECEPTION WITH LIVE MUSIC AND REFRESHMENTS. THE EXHIBITS WERE WORKS THROUGH TIME BY DORIS CORDERO. THE MUSICIAN FOR OPENING EVENT WAS SINUHE PADILLA ISUNZA. EMPHEMERAL BY IRA MERRITT. HIS OPENING EVENT FEATURED A PRESENTATION BY STEPHANIE EHRICH, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VAN CORTLANDT PARK ALLIANCE AND MUSIC BY SINUHE; AND "FEELINGS ON A PAGE" BY ADENA BLICKSTEIN. THE MUSIC FOR OPENING EVENT WAS BY SCOTT BRAVO AND TOGETHER ADENA AND SCOTT PERFORMED TO DESCRIBE HER ARTWORK. OTHER EVENTS PRODUCED AT 505BX IN 2021-2022 INCLUDED SANTA AT KRVC AND A SERIES OF MONDAY FUNDAYS, WHICH ARE LIKE MINI-FESTIVALS IN FRONT OF OUR SPACE FEATURING STREET PERFORMERS, FACE PAINTING, MUSIC, REFRESHMENTS, CRAFTS AND MORE.


KRVC PRODUCED TWO MAJOR COMMUNITY EVENTS IN 2021-22. THEY INCLUDED A KINGSBRIDGE ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL AND A JAZZ CONCERT AT AMALGAMATED HOUSES. THE FESTIVAL INCLUDED A FACE PAINTER, STREET PERFORMERS AND A DJ FUNDED BY KRVC AND THE MUSICIANS FOR THE JAZZ CONCERT WERE THE SARAH JANE CION TRIO. THAT EVENT ALSO INCLUDED REFRESHMENTS.


KRVC PRODUCED OUR FIRST FILM IN 2021-22. IT FEATURED BRONX ACTORS AND WAS FILMED IN BRONX LOCATIONS. THE FILM CREW, CAST, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, EQUIPMENT RENTALS, ETC.
