IN FY2023 (2022-2023 SEASON), AMOR ARTIS PERFORMED A FULL 4-CONCERT SEASON FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE PANDEMIC, TO A CUMULATIVE AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 1047 PEOPLE. THE FIRST CONCERT, ENTITLED BACK TO BACH, A PROGRAM OF J.S. BACH'S MOST EXUBERANT WORKS FOR CHORUS AND ORCHESTRA ALONG WITH THE CONCERTO FOR TWO VIOLINS AND THE VIRTUOSIC CANTATA 51 FOR SOLO SOPRANO AND TRUMPET, WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A FULL BAROQUE ORCHESTRA AND PERFORMED TO AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 220 PEOPLE. THE SECOND CONCERT, ENTITLED AN AMOR ARTIS HOLIDAY, CONTINUED THE GROUP'S TRADITION OF PERFORMING A BROAD SELECTION OF HOLIDAY-THEMED MUSIC, INCLUDING ARRANGEMENTS OF TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CAROLS AS WELL AS OLD AND NEW COMPOSITIONS. THIS WAS PERFORMED TO AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 393 PEOPLE, WITH AN INSTRUMENTAL GROUP OF SEVEN PLAYERS. THE THIRD CONCERT - ENTITLED SONGS OF SORROW, SONGS OF SOLACE - WAS PRESENTED TO AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 230 PEOPLE. ACCOMPANIED BY PIANO AND VIOLIN, THE PROGRAM OF PIECES FROM THE SIXTEENTH THROUGH TWENTY-FIRST CENTURIES COMMEMORATED THE LOSSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PANDEMIC AND EXPLORED HOPE FOR THE FUTURE THROUGH MUSIC. THE FOURTH CONCERT, ENTITLED SONGS OF THE EARTH, AND PERFORMED FOR AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 210 PEOPLE, ACCOMPANIED BY A 13-PERSON ORCHESTRA, BEGAN WITH A RENAISSANCE MOTET, FOLLOWED BY WORKS OF THREE LIVING AMERICAN COMPOSERS, WITH A THEME OF APPRECIATION AND CONCERN FOR THE NATURAL WORLD.
