A SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS SERVING STUDENTS OFFERING COURSES IN FINE ARTS AND APPLIED ARTS IN STUDIO, ARTS IN EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH WITH AREA SCHOOLS. TRANSITIONING EXHIBITS INTO VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES; OFFERING FREE ZOOM ART WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS AS WELL AS ONLINE CLASSES WITH POPULAR TEACHING ARTISTS; PRESENTING INSIDE THE ARTISTS STUDIO--LIVE VIRTUAL STUDIO TOURS OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS; & CONTINUING OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY AND OUTREACH WITH A CUSTOM-DESIGNED MYSTERY ART PROJECT KITS: UNIQUE ARTS EXPERIENCES DESIGNED TO STIMULATE YOUNG MINDS. OVER 280 INSTRUCTIVE FREE KITS CONTAINING CLAY, WOOD OR SKETCHBOOKS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THROUGH LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES.


GRANT AND EXHIBITS PRESENTATIONS OF PROFESSIONAL CURATED EXHIBITS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, 2 ACRE SCULPTURE PARK, AND PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS. OUR AFFORDABLE ART BAZAAR PROVIDED ARTISTS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO SELL AND SHOWCASE THEIR ART. IN WINTER 2020, PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC, ROCA PRESENTED 5 CONCERTS WITH POPULAR SINGER/SONGWRITERS AND 7 FREE PUBLIC PROGRAMS RANGING FROM PANEL DISCUSSIONS TO FILM SCREENINGS. ROCA PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDED: ASSOCIATION FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE, CRYSTAL RUN HEALTHCARE, ARTS COUNCIL OF ROCKLAND, THE GORDON CENTER FOR BLACK CULTURE & ART, RIVERTOWN FILM, THE SARI DIENES FOUNDATION, THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF ROCKLAND COUNTY, AND THE EDWARD HOPPER HOUSE MUSEUM & STUDY CENTER.


DESPITE A 65% REDUCTION IN ON-SITE PROGRAMMING DUE TO COVID-19, ROCA SERVED OVER 450 ADULTS AND CHILDREN THROUGH 60 WEEKLY ART CLASSES. ROCAS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN THE 2019/2020 FISCAL YEAR INCLUDED: PROVIDING SAFE ART EXPERIENCES AT THE 5-ACRE CATHERINE KONNER SCULPTURE PARK, FREE & OPEN DAILY; FACILITATING A SAFE, 8 WEEK OUTDOOR SUMMER ARTS CAMP (FOR OVER 200 CHILDREN WITH SMALL, SOCIALLY DISTANCED GROUPS), PROVIDING 7 CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS TO FAMILIES IN NEED,
