ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS WORLD SERVICES ("AAWS") PUBLISHES LITERATURE AND RELATED MATERIALS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECOVERY FROM ALCOHOLISM. IN ADDITION, NET PROCEEDS OF SUCH LITERATURE ARE PROVIDED TO THE GENERAL SERVICE BOARD OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, INC. TO SUPPORT SERVICE ACTIVITY.

SALE OF BOOKS, PAMPHLETS AND OTHER MATERIAL DIRECTED TOWARD RECOVERY FROM ALCOHOLISM. DURING 2021, AAWS SOLD MORE THAN 3.4 MILLION PIECES OF LITERATURE. THIS INCLUDES 831 THOUSAND COPIES OF "ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS" (AKA "THE BIG BOOK")AND 421 THOUSAND COPIES OF "12 STEPS AND 12 TRADITIONS." A.A. LITERATURE HAS BEEN TRANSLATED INTO MORE THAN 110 LANGUAGES INCLUDING 73 DIFFERENT LANGUAGE TRANSLATIONS OF THE "THE BIG BOOK." A.A. LITERATURE HAS ALSO BEEN CONVERTED INTO MANY FORMATS FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED INCLUDING LARGE PRINT, AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE, BRAILLE, AUDIO AND VIDEO. A.A. LITERATURE IS DISTRIBUTED BY OVER 1.4 MILLION INDIVIDUALS IN OVER 72,000 GROUPS IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.


GRANT TO THE GENERAL SERVICE BOARD OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS TO SUPPORT SERVICE ACTIVITY WAS NOT MADE DURING THE CALANDER YEAR.
