THE CODEX FOUNDATION EXISTS TO PRESERVE AND PROMOTE THE ART AND CRAFT OF THE BOOK.

THE FOUNDATION HAS PURSUED AN ACTIVE PUBLISHING PROGRAM TO EDUCATE A BROADER PUBLIC ABOUT ITS MISSION TO PRESERVE THE PAPERS PRESENTED AT EACH SYMPOSIUM SINCE 2007, AND TO CONTRIBUTE TO CRITICAL THEORY OF ARTISTS' BOOKS. THE FOUNDATION WILL CONTINUE TO PUBLISH THE CODEX PAPERS, THE JOURNAL OF CONTEMPORARY BOOKS ARTS ON A BIENNIAL BASIS, ALONG WITH A MONOGRAPH SERIES. THE CODEX FOUNDATION ALSO AIMS TO EXPAND ITS OFFERING OF EXHIBITIONS, LECTURES, STUDENT INTERNSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS, AND MASTER WORKSHOPS. THE CODEX FOUNDATION IS ORGANIZING BIENNIAL SYMPOSIUMS FOCUSED ON THE ART OF HAND PRINTED BOOKS. THE SYMPOSIUM PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS AND EXAMINE THE BEST AND MOST CURRENT WORK OF INTERNATIONAL GROUP OF BOOK ARTISTS. IT FEATURES PROMINENT SPEAKERS AND EDUCATORS. THE CODEX FOUNDATION IS ALSO DEVELOPING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR LIBRARIANS, CURATORS, DIRECTORS, AND TEACHERS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE FIELD AND TO ASSIST IN DEVELOPING THEIR COLLECTIONS.
