PERFORMANCE: BACKHAUSDANCE CREATES AND PERFORMS ORIGINAL DANCEWORKS FOR DIVERSE AUDIENCES ACROSS A WIDE SPECTRUM OF AGES AND DEMOGRAPHICS. THE CONANY'S REPERTORY OFFERS AN ECLECTIC AN DYNAMIC VOCABULARY WITH A WONDERFUL SENSE OF FLUIDITY AND STRENGTH. FEATURING A DIVERSE BODY OF WORK THAT IS INNOVATIVE AND ARTISTIC, BACKHAUSDANCE HAS PERFORNED EXTENSIVELY NATIONWIDE AS WELL AS INTERNATIONALLY. THE COMPANY ALSO OFFERS CONCERT PIECES WITH A FOCUS ON YOUNGER AUDIENCES THAT INCORPORATES A MASTER CLASS WORKSHOP COMPONENT.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH: AS A MEMBER OF THE ARTS TEACH ARTIST ROSTER AND PART OF THE SEGERSTROM CENTER FOR THE ARTS EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS, BACKHAUSDANCE SERVES THOUSANDS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGHOUT ORANGE AND SAN BERNADINO COUNTIES. BACKHAUSDANCE IS ALSO PART OF THE MCCALLUM THEATRE INSTITUTE AESTHETIC EDUCATION PROGRAM. THROUGH THE PHYSICAITY OF CONTEMPORARY MODERN DANCE, BACKHAUSDANCE FACILITATES CREATIVE EXPERIENCES THAT EXPLORE PHYSICAL SCIENCE CONCEPTS BASED ON GRADE-SPECIFIC STANDARDS. WORKSHOPS ENGAGE STUDENTS IN GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITIES CHALLENGING THEIR BALANCE, RHYTHM, COORDINATION, SPATIA AWARENESS AND LISTENING SKILLS.
SUMMER INTENSIVE: A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE FOR PRE-PROFESSIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DANCERS, THE COMPANY HOSTS ANNUAL SUMMER INTENSIVES AT CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY. BACKHAUDANCE IS DEDICATED TO MAKING THIS POWERFUL PROGRAM ACCESSIBLE TO THE DANCE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEARLY HALF OF THE MORE THAN 106 NATIONWIDE PARTICIPANTS WHO TRAVEL TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EACH SUMMER.
