NECPUC ORGANIZES AND PRODUCES EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING EVENTS, AT WHICH COMMISSIONERS, STATE STAFF, AND STAKEHOLDERS FROM THE REGION AND BEYOND LISTEN TO SPEAKERS AND ENGAGE IN DISCUSSIONS ON REGULATORY ISSUES. INDUSTRIES DISCUSSED INCLUDE ELECTRICITY, NATURAL GAS, WATER, AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS. ISSUES CAN INCLUDE SUCH TOPICS AS FINANCING, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, DIVERSITY, SERVICE DELIVERY, AND WHAT THE FUTURE MAY LOOK LIKE IN THE UTILITY INDUSTRY. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THERE WERE TWO MAJOR SYMPOSIUM EVENTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2022 (OCTOBER 2021 AND MAY 2022).


NECPUC PROVIDES TRAINING, WORKSHOPS, AND MEETINGS FOR STATE COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF. THIS INCLUDES NECPUC PLANNING AND CARRYING OUT TRAININGS, WORKSHOPS, AND MEETINGS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING SUPPORT, IN THE FORM OF TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT, TO ATTEND TRAININGS SPONSORED BY OTHER ENTITIES IN NEW ENGLAND. NECPUC ALSO PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE COMMISSIONERS, AND SOMETIMES THEIR STAFF, TO COME TOGETHER IN MEETINGS TO DISCUSS ISSUES AND CONDUCT THE BUSINESS OF THE ORGANIZATION.


NECPUC PROVIDED TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF WITH VARIOUS PARTNERS, INCLUDING THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REGULATORY UTILITY COMMISSIONS, MEMBER COMMISSIONS, AND OTHER PARTNERS.


THROUGH A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, NECPUC STAFF PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE, MANAGEMENT, AND BOOKKEEPING SERVICES TO A 501(C)(4) ORGANIZATION, THE "NEW ENGLAND UTILITY CYBERSECURITY INTEGRATION COLLABORATIVE OR "NEUCIC." NEUCIC IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED BY THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSIONS IN EACH OF THE NEW ENGLAND STATES TO FACILITATE COLLABORATION BETWEEN AND AMONG VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS IN NEW ENGLAND WITH RESPECT TO CYBERSECURITY MATTERS RELATED TO CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN THOSE STATES.
