TO PRESERVE, MAINTAIN AND RESTORE A HISTORICAL SITE FOR PUBLIC USE AND EDUCATION. THE ASSOCIATION EXPLORES THE MEANINGS OF FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE BEFORE, DURING AND SINCE THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, IN CONTEXT OF A HOUSEHOLD OF WEALTHY LOYALISTS AND ENSLAVED AFRICANS.

THE ROYALL HOUSE AND SLAVE QUARTERS HAS HAD A STRONG FY24. IN JULY, THE MUSEUM CONDUCTED A SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY READING OF FREDERICK DOUGLASS' FAMOUS SPEECH, "WHAT TO THE SLAVE IS THE FOURTH OF JULY?" ATTENDED BY A CROWD OF OVER A HUNDRED PEOPLE. TURNOUT FOR PUBLIC TOURS ON THE WEEKENDS WAS STRONG DURING THE SUMMER OF 2023 WITH GROUP SIZES CONSISTENTLY LARGER THAN PAST YEARS. THE MUSEUM IS ALSO SEEING AN INCREASE IN PRIVATE GROUPS FROM COLLEGES, SCHOOLS, AND CHURCHES. SCHOOL GROUPS REACHED A NEW HIGH FOR BOTH INCOME AND ATTENDANCE IN FY24.
