THIS LECTURE IS IN RECOGNITION OF HOWIE'S ASPIRING CAREER AS A JOURNALIST. THE HOWIE STILLMAN LEADERSHIP AWARD WAS ESTABLISHED TO RECOGNIZE A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP QUALITIES. NOMINEES ARE SELECTED ON A NUMBER OF CRITERIA INCLUDING INVOLVEMENT IN UNITED SYNAGOGUE YOUTH; EDUCATIONAL, COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL-RELATED ACTIVITIES AND PERSONAL QUALITIES OF WARMTH AND CONCERN FOR OTHERS.
