MANAGING AN URBAN COMMUNITY FARM ACCORDING TO ORGANIC STANDARDS, RUNNING A HUNGER RELEAF FOOD ACCESS PROGRAM, EDUCATING YOUTH AND ADULTS ABOUT SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND PROMOTING RESPONSIBLE LAND MANAGEMENT.

2021 COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE PROGRAM (GROWN USING ORGANIC PRINCIPLES AND METHODS) SUMMER CSA SHARES: 361 FULL-PRICE SHARES + 18 SUBSIDIZED SHARES + 12 PRODUCE RX SHARES + 8 STAFF SHARES + 12 WORKSHARES + 1 SPROUT SHARES FOR WFCF FUNDRAISER = 412 TOTAL SHARES DISTRIBUTED; WINTER CSA SHARES: 175 + 10 SUBSIDIZED + 6 STAFF + WORKSHARES 3 = 194; TOTAL SHARES DISTRIBUTED FLOWER CSA SHARES: 72; TOTAL SHARES DISTRIBUTED FRUIT CSA SHARES: 200


LINKING EDUCATION TO SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND MEANINGFUL WORK, OUR HANDS-ON SERVICE LEARNING/VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS SERVED 315 INDIVIDUALS AND 21 GROUPS IN 2021 (863 HOURS TOTAL). THIS REPRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND WORKPLACE AND VISITOR SAFETY. CHILDREN'S LEARNING GARDEN PROGRAMS: HANDS-ON, FARM-BASED EDUCATINAL PROGRAMING FOR CHILDREN FROM THE GREATER BOSTON REGION, INCLUDING COLLABORATING PROGRAMING WITH THE WALTHAM RECREATION DEPT. AND WALTHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS. 1,602 YOUTH WERE SERVED IN 2021. ADULT WORKSHOPS/FAMILY EVENTS/PUBLIC EDUCATION SERVED 1,767 PEOPLE. THIS REPRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WORKPLACE AND VISITOR SAFETY.
