TO ASSIST MINORITY STUDENTS TO ENTER CAREERES IN THE FIELDS OF MEDICINE AND BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH BY PROVIDING THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET WITH ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONALS IN THEIR CHOSEN CAREER FIELDS, CREATING MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS AND PROVIDING CAREER EDUCATIONAL ADVICE.

2022 CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS: THE EVENING OF HOPE WAS HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER , 2023 IN PERSON. IN ADDITION, BSCP ALSO HELD NEW ENGLAND SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM AND SKILLS WORKSHOPS FOR COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DURING THE YEAR.
SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED TO 7 STUDENTS IN 2023. 6 HOPE SCHOLARSHIP AND 1 VETEX BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE CAREERS SCHOLARSHIP. THE TOTAL PAID OUT IN SCHOLARSHIPS DURING 2023 WAS $27,323. THE COVID-19 RELIEF FUND WAS CREATED AND LAUNCHED JANUARY 2021 AND TRANSITIONED TO THE EDUCATIONAL RELIEF FUND IN 2022. EDUCATIONAL RELIEF FUND IS GIVEN TO CERTAIN BSCP MEMBERS UP TO $1,000 EACH. THE TOTAL PAID OUT IN 2023 WAS $31,462, WHICH WAS ALLOCATED TO 29 STUDENTS.
