Part 3 - Line 4a

BREAD & ROSES HOUSING'S AFFORDABLE HOME OWERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ARE AMONG THE MOST ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE IN NEW ENGLAND. ITS COMMUNITY LAND TRUST MODEL, A PROGRESSIVE SOLUTION TO COMMUNITY CHANGE, TAKES THE VALUE OF THE LAND OUT OF THE HOME-BUYING PROCESS, PRESERVING THE LAND AS A COMMUNITY RESOURCE WHILE OPENING THE DOOR TO HOME OWNERSHIP TO VERY LOW INCOME FAMILIES. BESIDES CREATING AND PRESERVING AFFORDABLE HOME OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR HOUSEHOLDS TRADITIONALLY EXCLUDED FROM THE HOUSING MARKET, OUR FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM PROVIDES EDUCATION AND TRAINING, AS WELL AS NETWORKING AND ORGANIZING OPPORTUNTIES TO ENSURE FAMILIES' CONTINUED SUCCESS. ADVOCATING FOR THE HOUSING NEEDS OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES THROUGH COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS IS A KEY PRIORITY FOR THE ORGANIZATION. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, BREAD & ROSES HOUSING HAS CONDUCTED EDUCATION SEMINARS FOR OVER 2,700 LOW INCOME, FIRST TIME HOMEBUYERS AND ENABLED 54 FAMILIES TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN THEIR OWN HOME - FAMILIES THAT MIGHT HAVE NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE THEIR OWN PROPERTY.
