TO PROVIDE TRAINING, INFORMATION, AND SUPPORT TO HELP INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES LIVING IN SOUTHEAST MA TO ACHIEVE INDIVIDUAL GOALS, EXPERIENCE PERSONAL GROWTH AND PARTICIPATE FULLY IN COMMUNITY LIFE.

THE SOUTHEAST CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING (SCIL) OPERATES A REGIONAL INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTER THAT OFFERS FIVE CORE SERVICES TO ANY INDIVIDUAL WITH A DISABILITY WHO LIVES IN ONE OF 20 TOWNS LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS. THE FIVE CORE SERVICES ARE: ADVOCACY; INFORMATION AND REFERRAL; PEER COUNSELING (ONE-ON-ONE); SKILLS TRAINING, AND TRANSITION AND PREVENTION. SCIL PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO YOUTH TRANSITIONING TO ADULTHOOD THROUGH THREE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. THE SCIL PROGRAMS ARE FUNDED IN LARGE PART BY THE MASSACHUSETTS REHABILITATION COMMISSION.
