THE MASSACHUSETTS PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION (MPHA) IS THE CHAMPION FOR PUBLIC HEALTH IN THE COMMONWEALTH. WE ARE THE CATALYST FOR CHANGE, ELIMINATING HEALTH INEQUITIES AND CREATING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES FOR ALL.

MPHA CONDUCTS PROGRAM AND POLICY ADVOCACY FOCUSING ON: ACCESS TO HEALTHY AND AFFORDABLE FOOD; TRANSPORTATION EQUITY; ACCESS TO QUALITY AFFORDABLE HOUSING; IMPROVING PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE; AND MOVING HEALTH CARE PRACTICE "UPSTREAM". THESE PRIORITIES PROMOTE HEALTH AND HEALTH EQUITY IN THE COMMONWEALTH. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ENGAGING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS IN A COLLABORATIVE PROCESS TO IDENTIFY POLICY PRIORITIES AND LEADING THEM IN TAKING ACTION TO EDUCATE POLICY MAKERS; TWO LARGE, STATEWIDE MEETINGS (VIRTUAL IN 2020) AS WELL AS MULTIPLE LOCAL OR REGIONAL MEETINGS/TRAININGS; AND PARTNERING WITH ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE PREVENTION THROUGH ADDRESSING THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH.
