THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORCED TO CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FROM MARCH 13, 2020 THROUGH JULY 31, 2021 (17 MONTHS). DURING THIS TIME, THE ORGANIZATION PIVOTED TO INCORPORATE VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING ON A WEEKLY BASIS TO MAINTAIN CONNECTION WITH EXISTING CONSTITUENTS AND LAY THE GROUNDWORK FOR A SUCCESSFUL RE-OPENING, WHICH FEATURED A NEW INTERPRETIVE FORMAT, TIMED-ENTRY ADMISSION, AND POS SYSTEM.LOUISA MAY ALCOTT'S ORCHARD HOUSE, INC. (THE ORGANIZATION") IS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED IN MASSACHUSETTS WHOSE DUAL MISSION IS TO PRESERVE ORCHARD HOUSE (C. 1650), THE ALCOTT FAMILY HOME WHERE LOUISA MAY ALCOTT WROTE AND SET LITTLE WOMEN (1868), AS AN HISTORIC SITE AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER.
