Part 3 - Line 4a
GIRLS ON THE RUN IS A DEVELOPMENTALLY FOCUSED YOUTH SPORT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS. THE PROGRAM USES RUNNING AS A VEHICLE TO INFLUENCE POSITIVE SOCIAL, COGNITIVE, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSETS AND DEVELOPMENT. VOLUNTEER COACHES DELIVER A RESEARCH-DRIVEN RUNNING CURRICULUM IN BIWEEKLY SESSIONS FOR 10 TO 12 WEEKS. THE GIRLS TRAIN TOWARD THE COMPLETION OF A 5K RUN/WALK, A LARGE COMMUNITY-WIDE EVENT HELD AT THE END OF THE SESSION.
