Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

HEALTH- FRANKLIN COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE (FCAR) IS THE ONLY HUMANE SOCIETY SERVING AN ALMOST 900 SQUARE MILE AREA IN NORTHWESTERN VERMONT. FCAR HAS GROWN FROM A TOTALLY VOLUNTEER EFFORT BY A SMALL GROUP OF CONCERNED RESIDENTS TO AN INCORPORATED 501(C)(3) NON- PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT IS PRIVATELY OWNED AND RECEIVES NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING. THE FUTURE OF FCAR DEPENDS TOTALLY ON CARING, GENEROUS INDIVIDUALS TO ENSURE ITS ABILITY TO SHELTER THESE ANIMALS UNTIL THEY CAN FIND THEIR RIGHTLY DESERVED LOVING PERMANENT HOMES. AFTER 50 YEARS AS FRANKLIN COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, IN 2015 THE NAME WAS CHANGED TO FRANKLIN COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE (FCAR)TO BETTER REFLECT THE CURRENT MISSION AND PURPOSE OF THE SHELTER; A FOCUS ON THE HOMELESS CATS AND DOGS OF THE COMMUNITY. IN AN EFFORT TO GIVE THE SHELTER A MORE CURRENT, UPDATED IMAGE, THE LOGO WAS REDONE AS WELL. WELFARE: SINCE 1964, FCAR HAS UNITED HOMELESS ANIMALS AND PASSIONATE,CARING ADOPTERS. WE PLACE PETS WITH ADOPTERS WHO WE THINK ARE THE VERY BEST MATCH FOR EACH OTHER, SO WHEN YOU ADOPT FROM FCAR, NOT ONLY ARE YOU SUPPORTING OUR WORK WHILE MAKING AN IM- PACT ON HOMELESS ANIMALS IN YOUR COMMUNITY, YOU ARE ALSO GETTING A PET WHO IS THE RIGHT MATCH FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING TO ADOPT! HUMANE TREATMENT: FCAR PROVIDES HUMANE EDUCATION THROUGH THE MEDIA, COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS; COLLABORATIONS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES; AND MORE. CARE IS CONSISTENT AND FOLLOWS BEST PRACTICE STANDARDS: ENHANCEMENTS WERE MADE IN THE PAST YEAR AND INCLUDE; EXPANDED STAFFING AND PAY, ENHANCED STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AND EXPECTATIONS FOR EACH ROLE, WHETHER STAFF OR VOLUNTEER, REVISED AND UPDATED FOSTER TRAINING MANUAL, AND REVISED BOTH THE ADOPTION AND THE VOLUNTEER MANUAL. FISCAL: FRANKLIN COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE ENDED THE FY22 IN THE BLACK AND HAS A FULL YEAR OF OPERATING FUNDS IN RESERVE.
