VERMONT INTERFAITH ACTION IS A FAITH-BASED, GRASSROOTS COALITION OF CONGREGATIONS THAT TRANSFORMS ORDINARY PEOPLE INTO EMPOWERED AND ENGAGED CITIZENS. OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE THE HOPE, POWER, KNOWLEDGE, AND POLITICAL WILL NEEDED TO MAKE COMPASSION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE A REALITY FOR ALL VERMONTERS.

VERMONT INTERFAITH ACTION (VIA) IS A FEDERATION OF CONGREGATIONS WORKING TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIVES FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN VERMONT. OUR THREE LARGEST PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE IN DISMANTLING SYSTEMIC RACISM REGARDING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR AND RE-IMAGINING PUBLIC SAFETY SO THAT IT IS MORE EQUITABLE; IN WORKING WITH LEADERS FROM OTHER STATES TO PRESS U.S. CONGRESS FOR A PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP FOR MILLIONS OF UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS; AND TO PRESS THE VERMONT STATE GOVERNMENT FOR INVESTMENT IN SHELTERING AND SUPPORTING HOMELESS VERMONTERS AND IN BUILDING MORE UNITS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
