Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
TRUE TO ITS ORIGINAL CHARGE, THE CENTER IMPROVED THE QUALITY OF PUBLIC POLICY DEBATE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. IN AN ERA WHERE CIVIC DISCOURSE IS DOMINATED BY SPIN, THE CENTER'S THOUGHTFUL, NON-PARTISAN ANALYSIS WAS AN INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT FOUNDATION TO ENABLE RATIONAL PUBLIC POLICY DEBATE. DURING ITS OPERATION, THE CENTER PROVIDED INFORMATION THAT MATTERS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (LEGISLATURE, MEDIA, BUSINESS COMMUNITY, NON-PROFITS) - PRODUCING ORIGINAL RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS WAS THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH ALL OUR WORK RESTS. THE CENTER WAS COMMITTED TO SHARING RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS WITH AS WIDE A RANGE OF AUDIENCES AS POSSIBLE. WE WERE REGULARLY CONSULTED BY NEW HAMPSHIRE'S LEADERS IN PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND NON-PROFIT SECTORS WHO SOUGHT OUR INSIGHT AND EXPERTISE WITH STRATEGIC QUESTIONS. WE WOUND DOWN OPERATIONS EARLY IN 2018 AND THEREFORE DELIVERED LESS THAN TEN REPORTS, PROGRAMS AND TALIES.
RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS - THE CENTER PROVIDES ORIGINAL RESEARCH ON A WIDE ARRAY OF RELEVANT NH POLICY TOPICS INCLUDING, AGING AND DEMOGRAPHICS, THE STATE BUDGET, THE ECONOMY, THE EDUCATION SYSTEM, HEALTH POLICY AND FINANCE, AND THE ENVIRONMENT. ACROSS THESE TOPICS WE PRODUCED 6 ORIGINAL REPORTS ON A RANGE OF TOPICS AND WROTE COLUMNS FOR STATE MEDIA OUTLETS SUMMARIZING OUR ORIGINAL RESEARCH FOR A BROAD READERSHIP. WE MAINTAINED UPDATES ON OUR POLICY BLOG, POSTING 2 PIECES ON ISSUES RELATED TO OUR ONGOING RESEARCH.
