SAVE AMERICA'S YOUTH, YES (S.A.Y. YES) AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM-IN 2021, FHF PROVIDED FREE AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING IN TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. FORTY-NINE (49) STUDENTS IN K-12 GRADES RECEIVED HOMEWORK HELP, HEALTHY MEALS, REACREATION, AND PARTICIPATED IN STEM-BASED ACTIVITIES (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH)IN 2021. THE PROGRAM RAN FOUR DAYS A WEEK AND WAS OFFERED IN PERSON.


FOOD PANTRY AND DIAPER BANK: FHF PROVIDED FREE FOOD AND/OR DIAPERS TO 85 ELIGIBLE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. FHF PARTNERED WITH THE MIDWEST FOOD BANK AND VILLAGE AT THE CREEK APARTMENTS TO PROVIDE FOOD TO FAMILIES FACING FOOD INSECURITIES. DISTRIBUTION TOOK PLACE TWICE A MONTH. CONTACTLESS DELIVERIES WERE ALSO MADE TO FAMILIES WHO WERE SICK, DISABLED, ELDERLY, OR WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION. A TOTAL OF 225 PEOPLE RECEIVED FOOD AND ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION.


HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND CASE MANAGEMENT - RENTAL AND UTILITIES ASSISTANCE & ECONOMIC RECOVERY: IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, FHF PROVIDED RENTAL, MORTGAGE, AND UTILITIES ASSISTANCE TO 37 ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS (151 PEOPLE). THE GOAL OF THIS PRORAM WAS TO KEEP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES HOUSED WHILE THEY RECOVERED FROM THE MEDICAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF THE PANDEMIC. PEOPLE ASSISTED WERE ABLE TO RETAIN THEIR HOMES AND AVOID DISCONNECTION OF ESSENTIAL UTILITIES - ELECTRICITY, GAS, AND WATER. CASE MANAGEMENT WAS ALSO PROVIDED WITH THE GOAL OF ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND STABILITY SPECIFICALLY JOBS SEARCH AND PLACEMENT, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND ASSISTANCE WITH MAINSTREAM BENEFITS.


ADULT LITERACY PROGRAM: IN 2021 FHF PROVIDED FREE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND CITIZENSHIP CLASSES TO 38 IMMIGRANTS. PARTICIPANTS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH. SEVEN (7) PARTICIPANTS PASSED THEIR US CITIZENSHIP TESTS. SUMMER CAMP: FHF PROVIDED A WEEK-LONG OUTDOORS SPORTS CAMP.
