SECURE FULL EQUALITY FOR LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE IN MAINE THROUGH COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, EDUCATION AND COLLABORATION.

COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZING: RESOURCES ARE USED TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT LGBT ISSUES AND IMPROVE ITS STATEWIDE PRESENCE THROUGHOUT MAINE INCLUDING RURAL AREAS, COMMUNICATING ITS GOALS CLEARLY, AND EXPANDING ITS COMMUNICATION TACTICS IN ORDER TO REACH NEW BROADER AUDIENCES.


SAGE MAINE PROGRAM: PRIMARY FOCUS IS TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF THE LGBTQ OLDER ADULTS IN OUR COMMUNITY. PROGRAMMING HAS INCLUDED MONTHLY DINNERS, MOVIE NIGHTS, UKULELE GROUPS, A GUEST SPEAKER SERIES, COOKING CLASSES, AND MORE! WE ALSO PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR LGBTQ OLDER ADULTS ACROSS THE STATE IN NEED OF SUPPORT AND COMMUNITY.


ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET: DINNER AND AWARDS PROGRAM TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE JOURNEY FOR FULL EQUALITY FOR GAY, LESBIAN, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE. OTHER SMALLER EVENTS ARE ALSO HELD DURING THE YEAR FOR SIMILAR PURPOSES. MOST OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE REPORTED AS SPECIAL EVENT ACTIVITIES WITH CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED INCLUDED AS CONTRIBUTIONS IN PART VIII.
