The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

MISSION:

RAISE FUNDS FROM ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE PORTSMOUTH INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT. FUNDS RAISED SHALL BE GIVEN FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES TO NONPROFIT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS & FOR SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENT ATHLETES GRADUATING FROM LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS.

THE CLUB OPERATES AS A PRIVATE CLUB IN PETERSBURG VA. THE CLUB OFFERS QUARTERS AND PROVIDE VARIOUS RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS

TO HELP ALEXANDRIA PUBLIC SCHOOLCHILDREN LEARN TO READ THROUGH THE USE OF COMMUNITY TUTORS OVERSEEN BY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS. ATC SERVED 255 KINDERGARTEN, FIRST, AND SECOND GRADE STRUGGLING READERS THIS YEAR, WITH 89% READING ON GRADE LEVEL BY THE END OF TUTORING.

DSANV ASSISTS INDIVIDUALS WITH DOWN SYNDROME AND THEIR FAMILIES.

EXPAND AND ENHANCE SUPPORT FOR THE ALEXANDRIA LIBRARY.

MISSION:

THE PURPOSE OF THE VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE (THE ASSOCIATION) SHALL BE TO PROMOTE THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ALL EXECUTIVE AND MANAGERIAL PERSONNEL WITHIN DULY CONSTITUTED LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA; TO ENCOURAGE CLOSE COOPERATION OF ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THE PREVENTION OF CRIME, DETECTION OF CRIME AND THE APPREHENSION OF THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES; TO PROMOTE THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF POLICE PROFESSION THROUGH SELECTION AND TRAINING OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND GENERALLY STRIVE FOR THE HIGHEST DEGREE OF RESPECT FOR LAW AND ORDER THROUGHOUT THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA. THE ASSETS OF THE ASSOCIATION SHALL BE DEDICATED TO THE PURPOSES SET OUT ABOVE; AND NONE OF THE NET EARNINGS SHALL INSURE TO THE BENEFIT, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, OF ANY PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL, ASSOCIATION, OR CORPORATION.

SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIVING CONDITIONS AND THE WELL BEING OF THE CITIZENS OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH ADVOCACY SUPPORT, PARTNERSHIPS EDUCATION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES WITH RESOURCES WHICH PROMOTE SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

The goal of this organization is to work to protect individuals around the world from denial of civil rights and liberties or other arbitrary governmental interference, harassment, or abuse due to their political or religious beliefs.

THE VIRGINIA HEAD START ASSOCIATION DEDICATES ITSELF TO TRAINING AND ADVOCACY TO SUPPORT HEAD START DIRECTORS AND STAFF, CORPORATE PARTNERS, AND COMMUNITY/AGENCY PARTNERS WHO IMPACT THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
