TO SPONSOR AND ENGAGE IN RESEARCH RELATED TO SOLUTION MINING, CAVERN UTILIZATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS THEREOF AND TO PRESENT PAPERS OF CURRENT INTEREST TO THE INDUSTRY RELATIVE TO SOLUTION MINING AND CAVERN UTILIZATION.

TO PROVIDE FIRE PREVENTION, FIRE SUPPRESSION, FIRE EXTINGUISHMENT, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TO BOTH NEWTON AND RANSOM TOWNSHIPS.

TO IMPLANT FIRMLY IN THE YOUTH OF THE ABINGTON COMMUNITY THE IDEALS OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, HONESTY, COURAGE, REVERENCE AND RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY, SO THAT THEY MAY BE STRONGER AND TO INSTILL LASTING AND RESPECTABLE QUALITIES IN THE YOUTH OF THE ABINGTON AREA THROUGH LITTLE LEAGUE ACTVITIES.

THE MISSION OF THE GATHERING PLACE IS TO CREATE A UNIQUE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY CENTER THAT INSPIRES CREATIVITY, ENCOURAGES LIFELONG LEARING,NURTURES A SENSE OF PURPOSE, PROVIDES MEANINGFUL RECREATION, AND FOSTERS A SENSE OF COMMUNITY.

MISSION:

ABINGTON YOUTH SOCCER (AYS) IS A VOLUNTEER-RUN ORGANIZATION WITH NO PAID EMPLOYEES. VOLUNTEERS COMPRISE THE FOLLOWING: BOARD OF DIRECTORS - UP TO 19 (15 UNTIL 2/26/17 GENERAL MEETING WHEN VOTING MEMBERSHIP APPROVED CHANGE TO INCREASE BOARD SIZE TO 19); RECREATION COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES - 90; AND TRAVEL COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS - 10. BOARD MEMBERS ALSO VOLUNTEER AS OFFICERS OF THE ORGANIZATION, AS COMISSIONERS FOR THE RECREATION LEAGUE, AND AS COACHES OF TRAVEL TEAMS. ALL AYS VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCES AND CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES LAW.
