SCHUYLER HOSPITAL IS A 25 BED ACUTE CARE FACILITY WITH CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL STATUS AND 24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICES. IT PROVIDES A FULL COMPLEMENT OF HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY NEED FOR HEALTHCARE CLOSE TO HOME, WHICH INCLUDES THE RESIDENTS OF SCHUYLER COUNTY AND ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. MEDICAL SERVICES IN 2020 INCLUDED 3,729 INPATIENT DAYS, 41,110 LONG TERM CARE DAYS, 189,353 OUTPATIENT PROCEDURES AND 23,092 PHYSICIAN VISITS. IN 2020 SCHUYLER HOSPITAL PROVIDED $116K IN FREE AND REDUCED COST CARE THROUGH ITS CHARITY CARE POLICY AND INCURRED OVER $938K IN BAD DEBT DUE TO THE REMAINING UNINSURED AND INCREASING UNDER-INSURED POPULATION IN THE COMMUNITY.
