Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. WOMEN FOR AFGHAN WOMEN (WAW) IS A GRASSROOTS CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROTECTING AND PROMOTING THE RIGHTS OF DISENFRANCHISED AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS IN AFGHANISTAN AND THE USA. LN PARTICULAR, WAW WORKS TO HELP AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS (SEE SCHEDULE O FOR DETAILS).

THE BRIGID ALLIANCE SUPPORTS PEOPLE WHO MUST TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES FOR ABORTION CARE. WORKING ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, WE ARRANGE AND FUND CONFIDENTIAL TRAVEL, LODGING, CHILDCARE, AND LOGISTICAL ASSISTANCE, CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN THE NEED FOR AN ABORTION AND THE ABILITY TO ACCESS ONE.
