THE CIVIC COUNCIL WAS FOUNDED IN 1964 BY A GROUP OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS WHO BELIEVED THAT IT WAS IMPORTANT THAT THEIR RESOURCES AND INFLUENCE WERE COOPERATIVELY APPLIED TO SOLVE COMPLEX AND DIFFICULT COMMUNITY ISSUES. TODAY, THE CIVIC COUNCIL'S MEMBERSHIP CONTINUES TO CONSIST OF CHEIF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF THE LARGEST CORPORATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL PARTNERSHIPS IN THE KANSAS CITY METROPOLITAN AREA.
