THE L.J. "MIDGE" VERPLANK COMMUNITY IMPACT FUND IS A SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION WHICH WILL SUPPORT THE PURPOSES AND ACTIVITIES OF THE GRAND HAVEN AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC. WITH SPECIFIC FOCUS ON COMMUNITY NEEDS IN OTTAWA AND MUSKEGON COUNTIES. A SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION WHICH QUALIFIES AS A PUBLICLY SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION UNDER SECTIONS 509(A)(1) AND 170(B)(1)(A)(VI) OF THE CODE AND OTHER PUBLIC CHARITIES THAT ARE CLOSELY RELATED IN PURPOSE OR FUNCTION TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.

SOCIAL & RELIGIOUS TEACHING OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH AND PROVIDING COMMUNITY SERVICES. ALSO, A SCHOOL UP TO K12.

SOCIAL & RECREATION ACTIVITIES FOR BOYS & GIRLS AGES 6-18

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that make grants based on charitable endowments. Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

TO PROMOTE THE INDEPENDENCE AND WELL-BEING OF OLDER ADULTS AND SUPPORT FAMILY CAREGIVERS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY PROVIDING A DIVERSE RANGE OF SERVICES: CONGREGATE AND HOME DELIVERED MEALS, NUTRITION EDUCATION, IN-HOME SERVICES THAT INCLUDE BASIC HOMEMAKING, PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANCE AND RESPITE, A COMBINED SOCIAL-MEDICAL MODEL OF ADULT DAY SERVICES, ADVOCACY, SPECIAL EVENTS ADDRESSING THE IMPORTANCE AND VALUE OF SOCIALIZATION TO GOOD HEALTH, AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES.

THE MISSION OF CITIZENS RESEARCH COUNCIL IS TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMED PUBLIC POLICY AT ALL LEVELS OF MICHIGAN GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE DELIVERY OF FACTUAL AND UNBIASED ANALYSIS OF THE MOST CRITICAL ISSUES PERTINENT TO STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

SUMMERS-KNOLL SCHOOL EXISTS TO PREPARE CHILDREN FOR THE FUTURE THROUGH A CHALLENGING ACADEMIC PROGRAM THAT CONSIDERS THE WHOLE CHILD IN A SUPPORTIVE, ENCOURAGING, AND JOYFUL ENVIRONMENT.
