THE AMERICAN LEGION IS A VETERAN'S ORGANIZATION THAT PARTICIPATES IN COMMUNITY SERVICES THROUGH VARIOUS PROGRAMS INCLUDING LEGION BASEBALL, BOYS STATE, HIGH SCHOOL ORATORICAL COMPETITIONS, SCOUTING, FLAG EDUCATION, SCHOLARSHIPS, PATRIOTIC HOLIDAY OBERSERVATIONS, AND DONATIONS TO NUMEROUS QUALIFIED CHARITIES.

MISSION:

TO PROVIDE A PLACE FOR ALL HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS AND ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL TO MEET AND SOCIALIZE. TO SUPPORT YOUTH BASEBALL ACTIVITIES, MILITARY FUNERALS, VETERAN AFFAIRS, BUCKEYE BOYS STATE, FLAGS FOR SCHOOLS, AND ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT AMERICANISM.

SUPPORT OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP THEM PROVIDE CHARITABLE AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAMS AND RESEARCH TO MAINTAIN IN A CRISIS SITUATION MAINLY MEDICAL SUPPORT HIGHER EDUCATION WITH SCHOLARSHIPS TO MAINTAIN POST HOME FOR VETS

TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA;TO MAINTAIN LAW AND ORDER; TO FOSTER AND PERPETUATE A ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AMERICANISM; TO PRESERVE THE MEMORIES AND INCIDENTS OF OUR ASSOCIATIONS IN THE GREAT WARS; TO INCULCATE A SENSE OF INDIVIDUAL OBLIGATIONS TO THE COMMUNITY, STATE AND NATION; TO COMBAT THE AUTOCRACY OF BOTH THE CLASSES AND THE MASSES; TO MAKE RIGHT THE MASTER OF MIGHT; TO PROMOTE PEACE AND GOODWILL ON EARTH;TO SAFEGUARD AND TRANSMIT TO POSTERITY THE PRINCIPLES OF JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY; TO CONSECRATE AND SANCTIFY OUR COMRADESHIP BY OUR DEVOTION TO MUTUAL HELPFULNESS.

MEMBERS MEET TO PLAN EVENTS AND RAISE FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT THOUSANDS WITHIN AND AROUND THE CITY. MEMBERS VISIT THE VA MEDICAL CENTER AND DONATE TIME, MONEY AND SUPPLIES TO DISABLED VETERANS.

SERVICES TO VETERANS OUR ACTIVE SERVICE OFFICER COUNSELS VETERANS WITH PROBLEMS. WE DONATE USE OF OUR SOCIAL HALL FOR FUNERALS. OUR VOLUNTEER SQUAD SERVES AT MILITARY FUNERALS.

TO AID IN THE REHABILITATION OF DISABLED VETERANS BY PROVIDING OUTDOOR FACILITIES AND LAND, ENABLING THEM TO PARTAKE IN HUNTING AND FISHING OPPORTUNITIES.

PROVIDE DELIBERATE REOCCURING PROGRAMS AND APPROPRITE IMMEDIATE/EMERGENT ASSISTANCE TO OUR TEAMMATES AND THEIR FAMILIES. PERPETUATE THE HISTORY, LINEAGE, AND TRADITIONS.

PROVIDE SERVICES TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, HONOR GUARD FOR DECEASED MEMBERS OF THE SERVICES, VETERANS RELIEF, AND COMFORT ITEMS FOR HOSPITALIZED VETERANS OF THE LOCAL VA HOSPITAL, AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE VETERAN'S CHILDREN HOME.

TO PROMOTE THE IDEALS OF THE ORGANIZATION BY PROVIDING SUPPORT IN LOCAL EVENTS, SPONSORING LOCAL CHARITABLE ORGANZIATIONS AND SOCIALIZATION OF MEMBERSHIP COMPRISED OF MEMBERS OF THE ARMED SERVICES.
