These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO SUPPORT AMATEUR ATHLETICISM IN NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. THE FOCAL POINT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITIES IS THE SPONSORSHIP OF A 26.2-MILE MARATHON. THE EVENT HAS BEEN DESIGNATED AS A CERTIFIED OLYMPIC QUALIFYING COURSE BY THE USATF AND SERVES AS A QUALIFIER FOR A NUMBER OF OTHER AMATEUR MARATHON EVENTS. THE EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING INDIVIDUALS THAT COMPETE IN THE WHEELCHAIR DIVISION OF THE RACE. THE LAYOUT OF THE COURSE IS DESIGNED TO HIGHLIGHT THE CULTURAL AND HISTORIC ASPECTS OF THE LACKAWANNA VALLEY OF NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA BY HIGHLIGHING SEVERAL AREAS OF HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE IN THE TOWNS LOCATED ALONG THE RACE COURSE. THE ORGANIZATION STRIVES TO FOSTER AND PROMOTE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE BY MEANS OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE. THE NET PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO ST. JOSEPH'S CENTER WHICH IS A SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT CARES FOR MEDICALLY FRAGILE CHILDREN.

TO PROVIDE FUN OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AT NO COST TO OUR WOUNDED WARRIORS, BATTLE BUDDIES, VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILITES. WE HOST THERAPEUTIC FISHING, HUNTING, CAMPING AND BOATING EVENTS PRIMARILY IN NORTHERN NEW YORK AS WELL AS OTHER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND PARTS OF CANADA.

THE SPORTSPLEX BOOSTER CLUB (SBC) IS A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION, SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL MALE AND FEMALE GYMNASTS THROUGH ENCOURAGING AND MAINTAINING ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP AND HOSTING USAG SANCTIONED MEETS.

WE BELIEVE BICYCLES CAN BE A MEANS TO SOCIAL CHANGE, ADDRESSING ISSUES OF EQUITY, ACCESS, AND INCLUSION. WE WORK TO CREATE INNOVATIVE, COMMUNITY-ROOTED SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY MOBILITY NEEDS.
