TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE OF MAINE'S LAKES, BOTH TODAY AND LONG INTO THE FUTURE. OUR PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES PROMOTE HEALTHY LAKES FOR ALL LAKE USERS, INCLUDING RESIDENTS, VISITORS, LAKE ASSOCIATIONS, COMMUNITIES, AND THE NEXT GENERATION OF LAKE STEWARDS.

MISSION:

THE SALMON RIVER RESTORATION COUNCIL'S (SRRC) MISSION IS TO ASSESS, PROTECT, AND MAINTAIN THE SALMON RIVER ECOSYSTEM WITH THE ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, FOCUSING ON THE ANADROMOUS FISHERIES RESOURCE AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY.THE SRRC WORKS TO FOSTER THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE SALMON RIVER WATERSHED AND ITS INHABITANTS THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS.THE WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROGRAM MONITORS WATER QUALITY AND QUANTITY ON THE SALMON RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES IN ORDER TO BETTER PROMOTE AND UNDERSTAND THE HEALTH OF THE RIVER AND ITS FISHERIES.THE WATERSHED EDUCATION PROGRAM INTEGRATES WATERSHED AND FISHERIES AWARENESS INTO THE CURRICULA OF THE TWO SALMON RIVER SCHOOLS AND HAS MET WITH MUCH ACCLAIM FROM STUDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY. THE RIVER CLEAN-UP PROGRAM HELPS MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND LITTER-FREE WATERSHED BY CLEARING UP WASTE BOTH LARGE AND SMALL THROUGHOUT THE WATERSHED.

THE MISSION OF THE WALLA WALLA BASIN WATERSHED COUNCIL IS TO PROTECT THE RESOURCES OF THE WALLA WALLA WATERSHED, DEAL WITH ISSUES IN ADVANCE OF RESOURCE DEGREDATION AND ENHANCE THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE WATERSHED, WHILE ALSO PROTECTING AS FAR AS POSSIBLE THE WELFARE, CUSTOMS, AND CULTURES OF THE CITIZENS RESIDING IN THE BASIN.

HUI O KOOLAUPOKO IMPLEMENTS WATERSHED RESTORATIONS, PROJECTS AIMED AT IMPROVING WATER QUALITY IN STREAMS, EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ABOUT WHAT THEY CAN DO TO INSURE POLLUTANTS DON'T ENTER STREAMS AND WORKS WITH VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH RESTORATION PROJECTS SUCH AS STREAM SIDE TREE PLANTING

VIEW SANITARY DISTRICT'S WETLAND'S FIELD TRIP PROGRAM AND TO FURTHER THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF NATURAL RESOURCES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE DISTRICT'S WETLANDS, WHICH ARE CHARITABLE AQCTIVITIES WITHIN THE MEANING OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
