Part 3 - Line 1

TO ASSIST THE BAND DIRECTOR IN PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MUSICAL EXPERIENCES, CREATE COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO ART AND MUSIC CULTURE.

Part 3

REGULAR MARCHING BAND ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING 1 MARCHING PERFORMANCES DURING HALF TIME AT SELECT FOOTBALL GAMES 2 PEP RALLY PERFORMANCES AT FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL GAMES 3 MARCHING IN THE ANNUAL MAUI COUNTY FAIR PARADE, WHICH IS THE LARGEST COMMUNITY EVENT OF THE YEAR AND 4 THE BAND HOSTS THE MAUI MARCHING FESTIVAL WHICH INVITES SCHOOLS ON MAUI AND IN HONOLULU TO PARTICIPATE. MAJOR COSTS INCLUDE TRAINING, UNIFORMS, CLINICIANS, MUSIC, AND TRANSPORTATION.


CONCERT BAND - THE BAND PERFORMS FREE CONCERTS DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON AT SCHOOLS AND SHOPPING MALLS AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE. THE BANDS CONCERT SEASON IS HIGHLIGHTED BY THEIR ANNUAL SPRING CONCERT AT THE MAUI ARTS CULTURAL CENTER AND AN ALOHA CONCERT IN MAY OF EACH YEAR. THE BAND HOSTS THE MAUI DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL BAND FESTIVAL, WHICH GATHERS HIGH SCHOOL BANDS ACROSS THE ISLAND FOR A SERIES OF PERFORMANCES. THE FESTIVAL INCLUDES AN HONOR BAND WHOSE MEMBERS ARE SELECTED BY AUDITION. ALL OF THE PERFORMANCES ARE FREE OF CHARGE. THE BAND INCURS EXPENSES FOR VENUES, UNIFORMS, MUSIC, AND VARIOUS OTHER OPERATIONAL COSTS.


OTHER STUDENT ACTIVITIES - A BANQUET IS HELD AT YEAR END FOR STUDENTS, STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS. KIDOGUCHI SCHOLARSHIP - ISSUED 5 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATING SENIORS
