TO EMPOWER BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO RECONNECT AND REBUILD IN OUR COMMUNITY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

OUR BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST THE BRAIN INJURY SURVIVOR IN SUCCESSFULLY RETURNING TO HIS OR HER COMMUNITY AT THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL OF FUNCTIONING, WHILE ALSO PROVIDING INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES. OUR PROGRAM IS COMPRISED OF THREE ELEMENTS: COMMUNITY INTEGRATION SERVICES, SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES AND VOCATIONAL SUPPORTED SERVICES. WE WORK WITH OUR MEMBERS TO ENCOURAGE THEIR PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE AND BEHAVIORAL RECOVERY. CLASSES SUCH AS TAI CHI, YOGA AND DANCE HELP PROMOTE PHYSICAL BALANCE AND STRENGTH WHILE CLASSES SUCH AS BRAIN WORK-OUT, MEMORY GAMES AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS PROMOTE COGNITIVE FUNCTION AND MEMORY IMPROVEMENT. CLASSES ALSO INCLUDE CERAMICS, ART WORK, SUPPORT GROUPS, MUSIC, GUITAR AND DRUMMING. THROUGH ONE-ON-ONE HELP AND SUPPORT GROUPS, WE ARE ABLE TO AID OUR MEMBERS IN THEIR EMOTIONAL RECOVERY. DURING THE PERIOD JULY 2016 TO JUNE 2017 JODI HOUSE PROVIDED OVER 5,000 HOURS OF SERVICE TO APPROXIMATELY 100 MEMBERS. MEMBERS IN OUR DAY PROGRAM ARE EQUALLY DIVIDED BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN AND SPAN AN AGE RANGE OF OVER 60 YEARS. THEIR INJURIES INCLUDE TUMOR, STROKE, TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY AND ANEURYSM. THE MAJORITY QUALIFY AS VERY LOW INCOME.JODI HOUSE IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING VALUABLE INFORMATION REGARDING AVAILABLE RESOURCES IN THE COMMUNITY. STAFF IS AVAILABLE IN PERSON, BY PHONE OR BY EMAIL TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND PROVIDE REFERRALS TO SURVIVORS, CAREGIVERS OR LOVED ONES REGARDING BRAIN INJURY AND RELATED RESOURCES.
