LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY (LAFSBC) PROVIDED FREE CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES TO ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS ACROSS SANTA BARBARA COUNTY THROUGH ITS OFFICES IN SANTA MARIA, LOMPOC, AND SANTA BARBARA. SERVICES INCLUDE LEGAL INFORMATION AND ADVICE, ASSISTANCE WITH THE PREPARATION OF LEGAL DOCUMENTS, AND REPRESENTATION IN COURT HEARINGS. LEGAL MATTERS INCLUDE: FAMILY VIOLENCE & ELDER ABUSE PREVENTION; IMMIGRATION SERVICES FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME; HOUSING, FAIR HOUSING AND EVICTION DEFENSE; FORECLOSURE PREVENTION AND CONSUMER PROTECTION; AND GUARDIANSHIP OR CONSERVATORSHIP OF THE PERSON. LAFSBC ALSO HOLDS A CONTRACT TO STAFF SANTA BARBARA SUPERIOR COURT SELF-HELP CENTERS, KNOWN AS LEGAL RESOURCE CENTERS. FINALLY, LAFSBC ALSO COORDINATED THE ALL-VOLUNTEER CONSUMER PROTECTION & BANKRUPTCY CLINIC AND PROJECT OUTREACH SERVICES.
