THE CALIFORNIA HOMEBUILDING FOUNDATION'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS WHO EXCEL IN THEIR BUILDING INDUSTRY-RELATED PROGRAM, DEMONSTRATE A STRONG WILL TO SUCCEED, AND ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. GRANTED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 110 STUDENTS AND MADE GRANTS TO 3 COLLEGES.


DONALD CHAIKEN BUILDING INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY (BITA) BITA IS A PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA HOMEBUILDING FOUNDATION. BITAS A 4-YEAR HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING PROGRAM CURRENTLY RUNS IN MORE THAN 40 HIGH SCHOOLS IN CALIFORNIA WITH 3 5 NEW SCHOOLS ON TARGET TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM NEXT YEAR.BITAS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A TRAINED WORKFORCE TO MEET INDUSTRY DEMAND, OFFSET WORKER RETIREMENT, AND AVOID LABOR SHORTAGES. BITA ALSO ENHANCES THE PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF THE BUILDING INDUSTRY, ITS DIVERSE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, AND HARDWORKING EMPLOYEES.


THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY RESEARCH BOARD (CIRB) IS A PROGRAM OF CALIFORNIA HOMEBUILDING FOUNDATION. CIRB IS A RESEARCH CENTER ESTABLISHED IN 1954 TO PROVIDE STATISTICAL INFORMATION ON THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. CIRB COLLECTS BUILDING PERMIT DATA FROM MORE THAN 530 CALIFORNIA CITIES AND COUNTIES. CIRB OFFERS A NUMBER OF REPORTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AND DOWNLOAD.
