SUSTAINABLE SALMON INITIATIVE - IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHINOOK SALMON ACTION PLAN FOR THE ARCTIC-YUKON-KUSKOKWIM AREAS OF ALASKA BY IDENTIFYING KEY DRIVERS OF DECLINE IN FRESHWATER AND MARINE HABITATS THROUGH A CONCENTRATED CHINOOK SALMON FOCUSED RESEARCH AND RESTORATION PROGRAM.


NORTHERN BERING SEA RESILIENCE- THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A CRITICAL PATHWAY FOR THE TRIBES IN THE REGION TO EXERCISE SELF-DETERMINATION AND PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE EQUAL CONTRIBUTORS ON POLICY DECISIONS FACING THE NORTHERN BERING SEA.


SALMON RESTORATION AND RESEARCH - THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE (USFWS) PROVIDES FUNDING FOR COOPERATION BETWEEN THE ASSOCIATION AND THE USFWS IN MANAGING FISH MONITORING PROJECTS TO COOPERATIVELY SUPPORT SALMON RESEARCH AND RESTORATION NEEDS IN WESTERN ALASKA. TOTAL EXPENSES = 7,631 ARCTIC-YUKON-KUSKOKWIM TRIBAL CONSORTIUM: TO SUPPORT AND ACT AS THE FISCAL SPONSOR FOR THE CONSORTIUM WHICH CONSISTS OF 118 TRIBES WORKING TOGETHER TO BRING ABOUT LASTING CHANGE TO THE RIVER-TO-SEA MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS GOVERNING THEIR SUBSISTENCE RESOURCES.
