IN 2023, THE FOUNDATION FACILITATED THE H&L HOLIDAY HELP PROGRAM DISTRIBUTING FUNDS TO 11 LOCAL CHARITIES SELECTED BY H&L STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS THAT ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES DURING THE WINTER HOLIDAY SEASON.
THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED THE JOSH NICHOL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, WHICH PROVIDES FINANCIAL AID AND MENTORSHIP TO ASPIRING ADVERTISING AND MARKETING LEADERS WITH FINANCIAL NEED. IN 2023, IT AWARDED 7 SCHOLARSHIPS BETWEEN $2,000 TO $4,000 EACH TO STUDENTS PURSUING CAREERS IN THESE FIELDS. THE FUNDING HELPS OFFSET TUITION AND EDUCATIONAL COSTS FOR THE RECIPIENTS.
THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED THE VALERIE BAILEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY, SUPPORTING DEPARTMENT OF BROADCAST & ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION ARTS (BECA) STUDENTS WHO INSPIRE AND UPLIFT UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES IN THEIR APPROACH TO THEIR STUDIES AND FUTURE PATHS WITHIN MEDIA ARTS.
