IT PROMOTES THE OBJECTIVES AND PRINCIPLES OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR AND CONGRESS OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE STATE OF UTAH FOR ITS MEMBERS, WHICH INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: TO PROTECT, MAINTAIN AND ADVANCE THE INTEREST OF ALL WORKING PEOPLE TO SHARE THE BENEFITS OF UNION ORGANIZATIONS, SECURE LEGISLATION, PROTECT AND STRENGTHEN DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS, SECURE RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES, PROTECT THE LABOR MOVEMENT, TO PROMOTE THE CAUSE OF PEACE AND FREEDOM IN THE WORLD.
