GLOBAL COHORTS - DAC IS BUILDING GLOBAL COHORTS TO ADVANCE UNDERSTANDING OF ALZHEIMER'S AMONG DIVERSE POPULATIONS. THIS DATA WILL PROVIDE THE FOUNDATION FOR IDENTIFYING NEW BIOMARKERS AND DEVELOPING TARGETED TREATMENTS THAT WORK FOR PEOPLE WORLDWIDE. IN 2021, DAC COMPLETED A CROSS-REGION HETEROGENEITY EXPLORATION PILOT (PRS) TO ENGAGE COHORTS. THIS INCLUDED THE MIDDLE EAST, SOUTH EAST ASIA, AFRICA AND SOUTH AMERICA AND CONNECT WITH MORE ADVANCED COHORTS IN THE WESTERN WORLD TO TEST OUR ABILITIES TO COMBINE AND FEDERATE DATA AND PROVIDE A ROADMAP FOR FURTHER INTEGRATION OF RACIALLY DISTINCT AND DIVERSE COHORTS. DAC RECRUITED 14 COHORTS AROUND THE GLOBE. OUTREACH TO COHORTS WERE TARGETED THAT HAVE THE STRONGEST ALIGNMENT WITH THE SCIENTIFIC PLAN AND ACCESS TO THE TARGETED MEASUREMENTS.


HEALTHCARE SYSTEM PREPAREDNESS - DAC IS INVESTING TO TRANSFORM THE WAY HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE DETECT, DIAGNOSE AND TREAT ALZHEIMER'S. THE GOAL IS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FUTURE INNOVATIONS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PEOPLE EVERYWHERE. IN 2021, DAC INITIATED 7 FLAGSHIP PROJECTS IN 6 COUNTRIES. THE INITIAL CENTRALLY-DRIVEN PROJECT FOCUSED ON EARLY DETECTION. DAC ISSUED RFP FOR LOCALLY-DRIVEN PROJECT PROPOSALS THAT FOCUSED ON EARLY DETECTION. OVER 70 RESPONSES FROM 21 COUNTRIES WERE RECEIVED IN 2021.


GLOBAL CLINICAL TRIALS - DAC IS BUILDING A GLOBAL NETWORK OF CLINICAL TRIAL SITES AND A SUPPORTING TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM TO REDUCE THE COST AND TIME OF BRINGING NEW TREATMENTS TO MARKET. DAC DEVELOPED A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 15 EUROPEAN SITES ORGANIZED FOR ACCELERATING STUDIES AND IMPLEMENTING NOVEL TRIAL DESIGNS. DAC VALUATED SITES GLOBALLY AND IDENTIFIED OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICA, SOUTH KOREA, SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN AND CHINA.
