CLINIC - ESPANOLA HUMANE OPERATES A SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC THAT OFFERS FREE SURGERIES AND VACCINATIONS TO PETS OF AREA RESIDENTS, WHICH RESULTS IN OVER 4,600 SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES, OVER 14,350 VACCINATIONS, AND OVER 4,800 MICROCHIPS EVERY YEAR. THE GOAL IS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF UNWANTED ANIMALS AND CREATE A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY FOR PETS, THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR NEIGHBORS.


SHELTER - ESPANOLA HUMANE ALSO MANAGES A MUNICIPAL SHELTER THAT RECEIVES OVER 2,600 ANIMALS EVERY YEAR. THE SHELTER WELCOMES EVERY ANIMAL, INCLUDING THE VERY ELDERLY, ILL, AGGRESSIVE OR INJURED. MANY ANIMALS ARE NOT ABLE TO BE REHOMED BUT ESPANOLA HUMANE PROUDLY ADOPTS OUT 88% OF THESE AT-RISK PETS. SINCE THE SHELTER IS OWNED BY THE CITY, ESPANOLA HUMANE HAS VERY LITTLE OVERHEAD AND 90% OF DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TO ANIMAL CARE.
