Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

GROUND BREAKING TO COMMEMORATE THE PHASE 1 OF CONSTRUCTION WAS CONDUCTED IN JANUARY 2021. THIS PHASE CONSISTED TWO BUILDINGS: A 8700 SQUARE FOOT RESIDENTIAL COTTAGE AND A 3400 SQUARE FOOT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE COMPLEX; FENCING, ACCESS CONTROL, LANDSCAPING, PARKING AND SIGNAGE ON APPROXIMATELY 5 ACRES OF THE TOTAL 13.92 ACREAGE THAT WAS DONATED IN 2020. COMPLETION WAS INITIALLY ESTIMATED FOR AUGUST, 2021; HOWEVER, EXCEPTIONAL SUPPLY CHAIN DISRUPTIONS, LABOR SHORTAGES AND WEATHER DELAYS SLOWED THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS SIGNIFICANTLY. THE YEAR WAS HIGHLIGHTED BY STRONG COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS. THE PY FOUNDATION AND SANTO PETROLEUM PROVIDED OFFICE SPACE AND USE OF OFFICE EQUIPMENT UNTIL SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF THE OFFICE BUILDING WAS REACHED IN NOVEMBER, 2021. PERMIAN CONSTRUCTION DONATED CONSTRUCTION CONSULTATION SERVICES AND SERVED AS LIAISON BETWEEN THE HAVEN OF HOPE ORGANIZATION, THE ARCHITECTURAL FIRM, HUITT-ZOLLARS, AND JAYNES CONSTRUCTION THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PLANNING AND EXECUTION STAGES. PROGRAMMATIC COLLABORATION, MODELING AND GUIDANCE WAS PROVIDED BY GRACEWOOD IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. A STRONG WORKING RELATIONSHIP CONTINUES BETWEEN THE ORGANIZATIONS. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MANAGED ALL BUSINESS ASPECTS OF THE ORGANIZATION UNTIL JUNE 1 WHEN ITS FIRST EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TOOK OVER DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS. IN JULY, A SHORT-TERM STRATEGIC PLAN CONCENTRATING ON INFRASTRUCTURE STABILITY AND FOCUSING ON BOARD STRENGTHENING, COTTAGE POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND THE BUILDING PROCESS WAS DEVELOPED. THE NEXT STAGE OF STRATEGIC PLANNING WILL FOCUS ON PROGRAMMATIC STRENGTHENING AND SUSTAINABILITY. IN ANTICIPATION OF ACCEPTING RESIDENTIAL CLIENTS, A FULL-TIME FAMILY LIFE COORDINATOR WAS HIRED IN OCTOBER TO MANAGE THE COTTAGE AND SERVE AS A MENTOR TO ALL RESIDENTS. ANTICIPATED BY THE BOARD TO BE THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, TWO BOARD MEMBERS WITH PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL HIRING EXPERIENCE VOLUNTEERED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS. THIS DEMANDING STAFF POSITION REQUIRES AN INDIVIDUAL WITH UNIQUE SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO COMPASSIONATELY GUIDE SINGLE MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN THROUGH THEIR TIME OF GROWTH AT HAVEN OF HOPE; THUS, THE FAMILY LIFE COORDINATOR IS PROVIDED WITH A PRIVATE RESIDENCE WITHIN THE COTTAGE AFFORDING HER THE ABILITY TO BE AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS ACCORDING TO THEIR UNIQUE SCHEDULES. THE YEAR ENDED WITH AN OPEN HOUSE EVENT IN DECEMBER TO INTRODUCE THE PUBLIC TO OUR SERVICES IN A FULLY FURNISHED COTTAGE. FURNISHINGS WERE FUNDED BY COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS AND PRIVATE SPONSORS.
