THE CONNECTICUT WORKER CENTER IS A GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY WORKER CENTER, WHOSE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, ON ISSUES OF WORKPLACE AND IMMIGRANTS RIGHTS. THROUGH ORGANIZING, ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP TRAINING, CAPACITY BUILDING, CIVIC PARTICIPATION

THROUGH THIS FUND WE COVERED PERSONNEL COST INCLUDING OUR WORKER LEADERS AND VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE EDUCATING AND INFORMING OUR COMMUNITY AND IMMIGRANT WORKERS TO DEFEND THEIR RIGHTS. THROUGH EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY, OUR MEMBERS LEARNED HOW TO FIGHT TOGETHER AND REALIZED THAT THEY DESERVE THE SAME RESPECT AND DIGNITY IN THEIR WORKPLACES AS ANY OTHER JOB IN THIS COUNTRY. THROUGH OUR CENTER AND WORKER LEADERS, MEMBERS HAVE ALSO LEARNED HOW TO FIND THE RESOURCES THEY HAVE AVAILABLE DEPENDING ON THEIR URGENT NEEDS. CCHD FUNDS HAVE ALSO HELPED US BUILD OUR MEMBERSHIP AND IMPLEMENT MORE PROGRAMS WITH GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES SUCH AS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.CONNECTICUT WORKER CENTER STAFF, WORKER LEADERS, VOLUNTEERS AND MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS EDUCATION AND TRAINING THROUGH NDWA. THROUGH TRAINING WE ARE DEVELOPING LEADERS IN THE MOVEMENT TO GAIN LABOR RIGHTS FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS, THANKS TO NDWA WE HAVE PARTICIPATED IN DIFFERENT CAMPAIGNS AND CO
